Revelwood has recently partnered with GENCFO, as part of the GENCFO Community’s launch in the U.S. Chris Argent, founder of GENCFO.
What personally excites you about the accountancy profession right now and/or in the years ahead?
Traditional norms are our biggest risk. That is a huge opportunity. The future of work doesn’t exclude finance, so embrace it. Ideas, issues, improvements, the lot.
What ‘soft skills’ will accountants need to develop to navigate some of the technological challenges the profession faces?
I feel agility is the real multiplier. Our ability to proactively change to the business needs. That isn’t about soft skills, as finance business partnering has largely failed, it’s about a new way of working, managing ideas, issues, and improvements. Being business geeks, not accountants.
Why the expansion into the US?
Whether you are in the U.K. or the U.S., both countries are directing the disruption, and it’s not all about the numbers. Tech is impacting our capability in real time, and GENCFO is leading the conversation and helping leaders build the future of finance.
What’s the one thing that finance professionals in our country should know about you?
The GENCFO Community is all about challenging the status quo! Traditional norms are our biggest risk. Agility is the real multiplier. We bring great people together for thought leadership, connection and a bit of therapy!
What is a GENCFO Talk, and why is it different to a standard webinar?
GENCFO Talks are produced with the community in mind, not a sales pitch or a product demo. We bring together the hottest topics and practitioners who are making change. We champion the changemakers.
What can the audience expect from the upcoming webinar on September 24th?
The role revolution will not be televised, but it may be on the next GENCFO Talk! We will dig into the topic from ideas to issues and improvements to solutions. We will include the audience and provide real insights. If you’re ready, we’re with you!
