As part of our commitment to delivering educational resources to the IBM Planning Analytics community and the Office of Finance, we’ve just launched a new video demo series. Head over to our YouTube channel to watch the first of our three videos on How to Create a Cube in Planning Analytics.
In this first video, Lee Lazarow, Revelwood’s FP&A Technology Director, demonstrates how to create dimensions in Planning Analytics. The demo walks you through three methodologies for creating dimensions as you create dimensions for a standard sales cube. First, you create a time dimension using the Planning Analytics built-in wizard. Next, Lee shows you how to create the sales rep dimension by using a file instead of the wizard. Last, you’ll see how to manually build the third dimensions of sales measures, which combines sales and commissions.
The next two videos in this series build upon the skills presented in this one. In the second video, viewers will learn how to take these dimensions and create a cube in Planning Analytics. Then, in the third video, Lee will demonstrate how to take the data in that sales cube, visualize it and build a dashboard.
